Stock Up For Summer at Friends of the Multnomah County Library Book Sale in Gresham

From the Friends of the Multnomah County Library website (

Our 12th year in East County! Our Annual Spring Sale will open from 6-9 pm on Friday, April 26, 2013 to a members-only crowd. That’s a good reason for non-members to arrive with their membership fees in hand! The remaining sale will be open to all. Sunday’s sale prices will be discounted 50%, so come back for those items you by-passed the first visit. Proceeds of the sale directly support the Multnomah County Library system.

Gresham Station Shopping Center, 1271 NW Civic Drive, Gresham, OR 97030

April 26, Friday, Members Only ($10 individual/$15 year to join) and Collectors Corner 6 to 9 pm

April 27, Saturday, 9 am to 6 pm

April 28, Sunday, 50% off day, 10 am to 4 pm

Literary Life

Book sales, author readings, and book events have always caught my eye, but since I started this blog I am almost overwhelmed by how many opportunities there are to live a life filled with book related activities.

The ones I talk about are usually most relevant to people within driving distance of Portland, Oregon but even if you can’t make it to these specific events I hope they’ll inspire you to keep your eyes open for the wide variety of ways to live a literary life!

Murder By the Book Farewell Party

Murder By The Book, a locally-owned independent bookstore serving the mystery reading community since 1983, will close its doors this month with a Farewell Party co-hosted by The Oregon Writers Colony Sunday, April 14 at 1pm.
In the meantime, their Biggest and Best Sale is going on.
