Won’t Make This Sale

This Taschen sale ad grabbed my attention – something about ‘slightly damaged’ books, not to mention the 50%-75% off. IMG
Sadly, I won’t be attending. It’s in New York and I am in Oregon. Even more significantly, it was last week.

20 Minutes, 24 Books, $22

20 MInutes, 24 Books, $22

The first things I saw upon entering the door were tables full of books and a sign that said: Paperbacks $1 each or 3 for $2, hardbacks $3 each or 3 for $5.

With the parking meter running and daughters who made decisions quickly and then waited semi-patiently, I made decisions quickly. Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout, I’m sure that’s on my list of Books I Hope I Live Long Enough to Read list; Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Novels and Stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, that should be on the List; Up the Down Staircase by Bel Kaufman, I read an interview with her a few months back and she sounded fabulous, I’ll add that one as well; An Arsonist’s Guide to Writers’ Homes in New England by Brock Clarke, well surely a title like that deserves a chance!
